It's A Wrap (bubble wrap)

My painting is done.  It took three tries to get what I wanted and to be honest it doesn't stand up to close scrutiny but I quite like the effect.  I decided the best way was to do it like stained glass.  Having tried pastels and watercolour (both ended up in the bin) I decided to stick to acrylic, thats what I seem to be best at.  I'm not good at skies of the realistic kind so this seemed to be the easiest solution!  It's only 7" x 5" or 12.5cm x 17.5cm so it didn't take me too long to do.  The hardest part was the black border lines.  I did it on canvas board and every bump shows and if you try to go over it to fill it in you inevitably make it wider so like I said, don't look too closely!  I did enjoy doing it though and may yet get back to my painting now.

I was quite glad to have the distraction today.  Both hubby and I have had one of 'those' days.  A day when neither of us is motivated to actually 'do' anything.  He worked very hard yesterday making a frame to put behind our hall mirror to put some led lights round it.  He was always concerned our lamp on the narrow table would be knocked off and putting christmas lights round it this year he decided he'd try something different!  He ordered the lights and decided to do it properly he'd need to make a frame to pull the mirror off the wall a bit more.   It kept him busy and actually it looks quite nice.

We can change the colour too.  Clearly it wore him out though as today he's barely moved!  Although at least he took the dog a walk this morning, by this evening when I should have gone out with him it was so foggy we couldn't even see the houses across the road from us, so I decided not to take the dog out, we might get lost!

Tomorrow I'll be back to mask making.  I swore I was making no more but I've realised my daughter needs more than she has as she's working full time at the moment and her Christmas ones aren't really appropriate now plus my nephew and his wife gave us a delicious home made cake for Christmas and although we don't normally get them anything I decided it would be nice to make them a new mask each too.  So it's back to the grindstone!   Take care out there, although here, it seems to have disappeared altogether! x

  1. You and your hubs are obviously very creative - and I like your painting. It's funny how we can see all the "faults" in it ourselves but nobody else notices isn't it!
